3 Lessons I Learned from Nature

As someone who has always cherished the outdoors and the beauty of nature, I eagerly anticipate the weekends as an opportunity to unwind through hiking, where I find relaxation and beauty in the heart of nature. I usually make it a point to carve out time to walk alone or in silence, immersing myself in the tranquility of the surroundings and allowing myself to contemplate the wonders of nature.

I often find that nature has a way of speaking to us, but only when we are fully present and in tune with our surroundings.

There’s beauty in change; we just have to slow down to see the whole picture. The picturesque rock formation at Wadi Araba has gained it’s distinctive look from natural elements like erosion. Upon reflecting on the challenges and changes we encounter in our daily lives, we would find that these obstacles would eventually help us craft a better version of ourselves. We just need time to see it.

The serenity in nature is a true healer. It’s there in the sun casting it’s rays on top of the mountains, in the light rain showers with the slightly cold breeze in the valley, and in the sounds of our footsteps on gravel and sand. Because amidst the chaos of our city lives, we would often find ourselves tired from constantly grinding. Nature on the other hand, would provide a safe space for us to unwind and just “be”. It helps us shut down the 100 tabs that were running at the back of our minds.

Life is not about the end goal; as the journey is far more important. There’s something special about discovering new places and getting to know other people around you at a hike, specially when they are like-minded souls. In such moments, we connect authentically and share stories and perspectives, where you’d find yourself inspired by their stories, or perhaps, you could be the source of inspiration.

What lessons have you learned from your encounters with nature? Let’s continue to explore and learn from the world around us.
